START WITH THE NOTES

Your tuning, at a glance.

Standard six-string guitar · lowest to highest

  1. 6E
  2. 5A
  3. 4D
  4. 3G
  5. 2B
  6. 1E

The thickest string is low E. The thinnest is high E. They share a letter, but sound two octaves apart.

A simple way to start.

  1. Allow microphone access and choose standard guitar tuning.
  2. Mute the other strings. Play one open string gently, without fretting it.
  3. Check the target note first, then make small adjustments using the pitch feedback.
  4. Repeat across all six strings and check them once more before playing.

A few good questions.

Can I use it with an electric guitar?

Yes. The Android listing includes acoustic and electric guitars. Give the phone a clear sound to hear; avoid distortion or loud background audio while tuning.

Can I tune to Drop D?

The Android app supports drop tunings. Drop D changes only the lowest string from E to D. The other five remain A–D–G–B–E.

Does it tune the strings for me?

The app measures pitch. You adjust the tuning pegs yourself, gently and one string at a time.
