Common soprano, concert, and tenor tuning · strings 4 to 1

  1. 4G
  2. 3C
  3. 2E
  4. 1A

With high G, the G string is higher than C. Low G uses a G an octave lower and needs a suitable string. Baritone ukuleles commonly use a different tuning.

A simple way to start.

  1. Confirm whether your ukulele has high-G or low-G strings.
  2. Select a matching tuning and allow microphone access.
  3. Sound each open string separately and adjust in small steps.
  4. Recheck G, C, E, and A, then play a familiar chord.

A few good questions.

Should I choose high G or low G?

Match the strings fitted to your instrument. High G has a reentrant pattern; low G extends the lower range. Read the guide before changing your string setup.

Can I tune without an internet connection?

The Android app listing confirms offline tuning. Download and install the app first.

Is G–C–E–A right for every ukulele?

No. It is common for soprano, concert, and tenor ukuleles. Check your instrument and string instructions, especially for a baritone or bass ukulele.
